Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

Cealshell ("cealshell.dev", the "Service", "we", "us", or "our") is a command-line package manager for Roblox Studio, together with this website and the proxy that the CLI resolves installs through. Cealshell has no central registry: packages are never uploaded to us. They live in their authors' own GitHub or Codeberg repositories, and the proxy fetches them on demand when someone installs. By installing the CLI, using the proxy, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Accounts are optional

You do not need an account to install packages. The CLI and the proxy work anonymously, and no registration step exists for publishing either.

If you do create an account on this website, you sign in using your Roblox and/or Discord accounts. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your linked accounts secure. You must comply with the terms of service of both Roblox and Discord while using Cealshell, and you must be old enough to hold accounts on those platforms in your jurisdiction.

3. Packages and third-party content

Packages installed through Cealshell are hosted by third parties — the repository owner, on GitHub or Codeberg. We do not host, store, curate, review, endorse, or take ownership of that content. Authors retain all rights to their own code, and publishing simply means making a release or a cealshell.toml available in a repository you control; it grants us no licence to your work beyond transiently fetching and relaying it when a user asks for it.

Because installs are resolved on demand, the availability, contents, licensing, and safety of any package are entirely determined by its author and its host. A repository can change or disappear at any time, without notice to us. Your use of a package is governed by that package's own licence, and you are responsible for reviewing what you install.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Cealshell to:

  • Distribute malware, backdoors, or code designed to harm users, their experiences, or their data.
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of others or violate Roblox, GitHub, Codeberg, or Discord platform rules.
  • Use the proxy as a general-purpose file host, CDN, or means of circumventing another service's restrictions.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organisation.

We cannot remove a package from the internet, since we never hold it. What we can do is refuse to proxy a repository, block abusive traffic, and suspend or terminate website accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion. If you believe a repository reachable through our proxy infringes your rights or is malicious, contact us using the details below — and note that reporting it to the host (GitHub or Codeberg) is usually the more effective route, as that is where the content actually lives.

5. Intellectual property

The Cealshell name, branding, website, CLI, and proxy are owned by their respective creators and are protected by applicable law. The source is provided under the licence described in our repository. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

6. Service availability and self-hosting

Cealshell is currently in beta and is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service — including the public proxy — at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we make no guarantee about the continued availability of any package, since packages are hosted by third parties rather than by us.

The proxy is open source and self-hostable. You may run your own instance and point the CLI at it, in which case these terms cover only your use of our website and our own hosted proxy.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content made available through it are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You install and run third-party packages entirely at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cealshell and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service or of any package obtained through it.

9. Termination

You may stop using Cealshell at any time. If you hold an account, you can delete it from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that could cause harm to us or to other users.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
